A day in the life

Well, today I thought maybe I could start teaching Lando colors while playing with blocks, so I hesitantly made a trip to the basement. Oh, boy. Sadly neglected. In order to use any blocks, I had to dig through some buckets. So began an organizing project. It was amazing what I found in those buckets! Construction tape, paint throws (you know, for furniture), garbage, lost game pieces, scissors, cars, cars, and more cars. It was like Christmas again for the children. B and Lando had a ball while I went through things, and the older children pulled out blocks and trains (etc.) after school. My house is now a disaster because they actually played with toys. Oy. One step forward, two back. Here is a picture T took of his track all the way around the island:

I was so worn out afterward- I didn't think I was working that hard.

We went to the primary talent show directly from the school. That turned out to be lots of fun. Wish I had thought to bring a camera. A and Ammo played the piano, T demonstrated how to braid (remember those plastic things from 5th grade camp? That kind), and B played with a bouncy ball with Ammo (he was so pleased to be involved). One little boy did armpit sounds! Ha, ha, ha! So much fun.

Now it is eight and we haven't had dinner. Surprisingly no one is complaining. Guess doughnuts (refreshments at talent show) have better holding power than you might think.

Later: Oh, and that Pea Soup? Really good. I took some of what was left from the fridge and put it in the microwave for 30 sec. (so that it wouldn't be ice cold from the fridge, not warmed). Loved it. I think part of it is that I forgot to add the miniscule amounts of sugar and salt at first, so when we added it to our own bowls, we added too much, but the bit I added to what was left in the serving bowl must have been about right. Here is the recipe, by the way.

-so did I use the word so a lot in this post, or is it just me?

**I had two other pictures but they won't upload. What the heck? They are on the same memory card and taken pretty close together... grrr.**

My goodness, I'm exhausted just thinking about it! My house is in a constant state of disaster, what with trying to keep Ollie entertained while I try to clean. Heh. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

And I didn't notice you used the word "so" too much.
